Our baby girl has turned one and it has happened in a blink of an eye.
Life was busy around Kylie's birthday. A holiday birthday is sure to keep you busy! So many people tend to have plans on/around the 4th, so it was quite difficult to find the perfect time to have a birthday party. So Kylie ended up having a 2 week birthday. I guess she's pretty lucky! We planned a family birthday party in Austin the week before the 4th to spend time with my family down there, we had our anniversary on the 1st and 4th of July parties her real birthday weekend, and then we planned Kylie's 'official' birthday party at our house the next weekend on the 10th.
Kylie was able to pretty much see everyone that is important to her within those 2 weeks. Here are a few memories from this special time:
June 25th Weekend: Austin Party
Austin Family Party!
Grandma and Grandpa got Kylie a very large bear. ;)
I love this one!
So dainty, not a fan YET of the sweets...
Little Firecracker!
4th of July Weekend
Opening a present on her real birthday!
Happy Birthday Kylie and America!! :)
July 10th Weekend: Birthday Party
Playing with friends and cousins at her bday party.
Second go at eating cake. Still not the biggest fan.. :)
Blowing kisses... she likes to lick her hands as she sends kisses your way! haha
Kylie is eating all table foods now. It definitely makes mealtimes interesting. She is becoming more and more independent and prefers to feed herself, making oatmeal/cereal time quite messy. Her favorite foods are still meats and cheese, any kind, and mandarin oranges. If you make her toast or macaroni and cheese, she really will love you forever! She has been going through a blueberry phase. Loves them and gets really excited while eating them.
Kylie is walking, but only a few steps at a time. Last week, she would go about 7 or so steps on her own, but is now back to 3 or 4 at a time. I would call her an avid crawler. She absolutely loves crawling, especially really fast to get away from you!
At her one year check up, Kylie weighed 19 pounds, 3 ounces (the 20th percentile) and measured 30 inches (75th percentile). She went down on her curve over the past few months for weight, but is doing just fine. She is eating and drinking well and developmentally learning what she needs to be learning. The doctor said that she is tall and skinny, like her Mommy and Daddy. Made me feel good for about a minute.. haha.
We cannot believe that she is a year already. She has a hilarious personality and is so much fun to play with everyday. It is such a blessing to be able to stay at home and take care of her and love on her all day long. I'm not going to lie, sometimes I just feel like I need a break and welcome Daddy walking through that door, but mostly so happy that we are able to afford being a stay at home mommy.
We love you Kylie Nicole and are so happy that God gave you to us to love everyday. Happy First Birthday!
