Pumpkin Patch!

We had to take Kylie to a pumpkin patch. It's just one of those things you do as a parent. You go and take pictures and it's incredibly cute. The problem we had, was that we just went yesterday and most of the pumpkins that were left had tumors on them. I'm not sure if that's normal, but it was hard to find a good pumpkin for her to sit next to. I think next year we'll go earlier!

Check out the pumpkin with tumors on the left.
I tried to keep them out of the pics, but this one made it in.

Kylie liked it mostly even though there were hardly any smiley pictures. She loved the breeze and would breathe it in extra fast. She would not look at us, it was hilarious There was just too much going on I guess. Cars were going by, the wind, the other families trying to take pictures... Oh well. She's cute no matter what and here are a couple of our pics.

Hangin out with Mr. Scarcrow

Daddy being silly!

One of the better ones.

Love the look on her face in this one.

Kylie and Her Feet

In the past Kylie has only been able to grab her left foot. I don't know why, but it has been the most interesting foot thus far. This weekend while my family was here she grabbed both at the same time! It was a big uproar as we were cheering her on and she got it!

Since then it has been her only desire. No matter what both legs are up and she is grabbing at her feet, both feet. The right foot has finally caught up to the left. ;)

New development for her left foot.....

Now her left foot grabbing has turned into taking off the left foot's sock. We'll see how long it takes for her to want to take the right foot's sock off!

Family Weekend!

My family from Austin/College Station/Houston came up for a Kramer Family Get-together. We've been trying to do this each month some way or another. This time it was at our house. My Mom, Dad, and their dog Gracie came up from Austin. My sister and her dog Stella came from College Station. My brother, his girl friend, and their dog Zorro came up from Houston. Add this to Casey, Kylie, and me... and we've got one FULL HOUSE. ;)

Gracie, Stella, and Zorro behind their new baby gate!! Gracie looks sad.

It was so nice to visit and eat delicous food. We had pizza, went to Texas Roadhouse (gotta love those rolls), and went to my all time favorite RUDY'S!! Rudy's finally opened up in Arlington and it was Kylie's first official time to go there. Very exciting.

Dressed up to go to Roadhouse!

Yea Kylie at Rudy's!! (just woke up!)

Kylie had lots of fun talking (loudly) to everyone. She especially loved talking to Chelsie and Andrew from across the room. While the dogs were behind the baby gate, Kylie did get to spend some time on the floor. Here she is sportin' her new leg warmers. It was almost the most adorable thing I've seen her wear.

Grandma, Uncle Andrew, Chelise, Gracie, and Zorro had to leave Sunday evening, but Aunt Sarah, Stella, and Grandpa got to stay. Kylie got to take Stella for a walk to try to get some of her energy out!!

Kylie got to wear her cute giraffe hat. It worked perfectly and she didn't mind it at all.
So sad that it all had to come to an end, even though it was chaotic and wild some times. Wouldn't change it. Thanks fam for coming up!! Can't wait to see you again in November! Love you!

3 Month Portraits

We decided to go to JC Penney because they do a decent job and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We went aound Kylie's nap time. Oops. The timing just doesn't always work out quite right, but she still did pretty well. She took a cat nap in the car on the way there which helped tremendously.

We went on a Saturday. That would be their busiest day for sure. There were several groups there all at different phases of their session. We walk in with a carseat, Kylie, her diaper bag (which isn't small), another bag with toys and things to entice her, a couple of blankets (didn't know what they had there), and ourselves. We were a pretty big bunch with just the 3 of us. They had us wait just a few minutes and we tried to wait off to the side. When they were ready, we went back to the tiny room with the black background, which they switched to white half way through our session. Kylie liked the attention for a little while, but it quickly turned to fingers must be in mouth at all times mode. Then it turned to I'm going to be fussy no matter what you do mode, so the session was over at that point. Daddy had to walk around JC Penney with her, so she wouldn't fuss too much while Mommy picked out pictures. Kylie got to see all the shiny ornaments in the Christmas section!

The pictures turned out great, but I do wish that more could have been done. JC Penney only takes 30 pictures and then you're done. They expect to only be taking pictures for 10 minutes. That's not a lot of time when you have an infant and are wanting a variety of pictures. I really went in looking for portraits of just Kylie and then for us to get a family portrait, but it would have been nice to have a little more time. It felt very rushed.

All in all, Kylie is adorable and they are perfect. Here are a couple of my favorite ones.

Her best smiling one.

She's not paying attention, but at least she's cute!

She looks a lot like me when I was little in this one. :)

Yes it is all about you right now, Kylie!

Better Naps!

Okay. So I finally gave in. I went to Babies-r-us and bought a large Swaddle Me to try for Kylie's naps. She is one of those babies that needs to nap at least 3 times a day. She was not getting good naps in. She would flinch a lot and wake herself up. This is how it would go... Kylie would fuss until she fell asleep, I would put her down only for her to wake up again, pacifier goes in her mouth, she's fine for 2 minutes, pacifier falls out, she cries, I put the pacifier back in, she sleeps for 10 minutes, and the flinching/waking herself up pattern continues for another 30 minutes. If I hold her, she could sleep for over an hour, but trying to put her in her crib just wasn't working very well. It was pretty hit or miss.

This is her now all swaddled in her Swaddle Me blanket. She hates her hands not being free, but I put it on her after she's asleep and she doesn't flinch this way. I took a picture of the monitor. I didn't want to risk waking her. :)

Let's just say she sleeps for an hour each nap without waking up until the end!! Yes!

She's still slightly fussy before her naps, but I'll take it! If I knew this was all it took I would have bought her one months ago! I also have the lullaby CD on. That seems to be helping with the fussiness before she goes to sleep.

It's only been a day and a half of this test, but hopefully it keeps up!

I'm posting this mainly for Kylie's grandparents in Austin, so they can see her 'talking.' They hate being so far away. This is just a little taste of her talking. My camera's memory was full by the end, so it cut it off. :(
Enjoy!

Wow that took forever to upload. Hopefully it works.

Kylie and Friends!

So Kylie has 2 friends that were born around her. Seriously she was sandwiched between them! All girls and all as cute as can be.

Her first friend Olivia was born 13 days before her and here's a picture of them together at On The Border celebrating Casey's birthday on August 16th.

Yes Kylie's head is bigger as are her chubby cheeks, but that's okay... she gets it from me! It was so cute because they were sleeping most of the time, but happened to wake up at exactly the same time.

Kylie is 6 weeks old in this picture.

Playtime after church at Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Mark's house. Olivia is not interested! I kept trying to catch them holding hands. (Kylie at 7 weeks.)

Now they're 3 months old in the nursery at church and Uncle Mark is holding them. Pretty soon he'll have his own little girl to hold! And the sandwich continues... :) (Kylie at 3 months old)

................................................................................................................
THEN after Kylie was born, her other new friend came along, Avery! She lives in Austin and was born on July 13th. Just 9 days after Kylie.

Soo, Kylie (little miss I MUST experience and see everything) was awake the entire time. Avery slept her way through lunch.

Avery woke up just in time to get a picture in. We were at Fuddruckers and we're pretty sure as we were taking pictures the entire restaurant was staring. I'm sure they knew we were all first time parents. (Kylie is a week away from 3 months here.)

..........................................................................................

The girls could care less right now, but I can't wait until they have playdates and actually 'play' or even look at each other!

I guess I should mention who the parents are! Haha! Olivia is our friends Chris and Erin's newest addition with big sister Ava. Avery is our friends Cari and Joel's first little one. I went to high school with Cari down in Leander and Casey grew up with Chris and Erin up here in Arlington.

I'm back!.... We'll see if it sticks ;)

So it is now October 2010. Yes I know it's been awhile. Sorry about that. Well now, Casey and I have a baby! Yep Kylie Nicole was born on the 4th of July. She's probably gonna be a little firecracker just like her birthday. The past few months with her have been a roller coaster. Many ups and downs, but we're here all in one piece and couldn't be any happier. I'll try to start from the beginning and see how it goes.

Kylie was born at Mansfield Methodist Hospital on July 4th at 6:56pm. Just before the fireworks began... really they were waiting for Kylie to be born. She weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She had hair and some chunker legs already. Her head was a little misshapen (sp?), but it rounded out pretty quickly. Here is a picture of her in the hospital.

We came home a few days later and she slept most of the time... not the case anymore! We had lots of visitors in the hospital and at home. It was so nice to see everyone and have their support. Our church planned meals for us for a week once we got home. That was so nice. We lived off of that food and leftovers for awhile after she was born.

Kylie grew pretty quickly. Before we knew it, she was already 12 pounds! Here are a couple of pictures of her first 2 months.

Kylie 2 Weeks Old

First time driving Kylie! (2 weeks)
1 month

1 Month: First HOT walk around neighborhood
2 Months: Mommy playing photographer

2 Month Bday: in hospital :(

2 Months: 2nd IV port put in

On her 2 month birthday, we had to take Kylie to the hospital for a fever of 101.7. Very high for her age. Long story short, she was admitted with a Urinary Tract Infection. Poor baby was poked and prodded for days. She took lots of antibiotics and was completely over it 2 weeks later.

So Kylie is now 3 months old.... and that will have to wait until the next post. Kylie woke up from her morning nap and is very ancy. This one handed typing can only last so long. :)
