We decided to go to JC Penney because they do a decent job and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We went aound Kylie's nap time. Oops. The timing just doesn't always work out quite right, but she still did pretty well. She took a cat nap in the car on the way there which helped tremendously.
We went on a Saturday. That would be their busiest day for sure. There were several groups there all at different phases of their session. We walk in with a carseat, Kylie, her diaper bag (which isn't small), another bag with toys and things to entice her, a couple of blankets (didn't know what they had there), and ourselves. We were a pretty big bunch with just the 3 of us. They had us wait just a few minutes and we tried to wait off to the side. When they were ready, we went back to the tiny room with the black background, which they switched to white half way through our session. Kylie liked the attention for a little while, but it quickly turned to fingers must be in mouth at all times mode. Then it turned to I'm going to be fussy no matter what you do mode, so the session was over at that point. Daddy had to walk around JC Penney with her, so she wouldn't fuss too much while Mommy picked out pictures. Kylie got to see all the shiny ornaments in the Christmas section!
The pictures turned out great, but I do wish that more could have been done. JC Penney only takes 30 pictures and then you're done. They expect to only be taking pictures for 10 minutes. That's not a lot of time when you have an infant and are wanting a variety of pictures. I really went in looking for portraits of just Kylie and then for us to get a family portrait, but it would have been nice to have a little more time. It felt very rushed.
All in all, Kylie is adorable and they are perfect. Here are a couple of my favorite ones.

Her best smiling one.

She's not paying attention, but at least she's cute!

She looks a lot like me when I was little in this one. :)

Yes it is all about you right now, Kylie!
