Let me just start this post off with, My Baby is a TODDLER. Yes a full blown toddler! Yes a running, throwing food on the floor, spilling our milk just so we can clean it up, an I don't want my diaper changed, I'd rather play toddler. Needless to say, mommy's been busy. I'll try to catch everyone up for the past 2 months rather quickly because nap time is almost over! And more than likely I will start this post now and will be finishing it tonight or during tomorrow's nap. Just how it goes...
A month ago, Kylie turned 14 months. She finally surpassed the 20 pound mark and became a pro-walker. Her personality has really started to come through. She loves to laugh and make us laugh. Just after she turned 13 months, her top molars started cutting. They were not good to her. Daddy and I just about had it with those relentless teeth! We had a 'moment' one night and realized that we were the most frustrated we had ever been as parents right then and there, just because of two stinking top molars! She was miserable, had trouble sleeping, eating, wouldn't let us brush her teeth, and above all wouldn't take some medicine. Finally they stopped only to start back up again 2 weeks later. I'm still not sure 2 months later if they are all the way through yet. My parents/family don't have a lot of opportunities to see Kylie, so Grandma and Grandpa made a day trip on September 3rd to visit us while Casey was at his deer lease. We had an awesome day of playing with Gracie (their dog), going to Cheddars to eat, and taking a little field trip to the aquarium store. Kylie loved it and it was a great bonding time for them.

At the aquarium store.. it really was an awesome store! The True Percula on Little Rd.

Just chillin' with Grandpa on the bench!
Casey had Labor Day off of work and we just happened to have a coldfront move through. It was a gorgeous day, so we went to the park! Here are a few pictures from that adventure..

She was happy at the top, but slightly worried by the bottom.

Yep we're teaching her to go up slides in this family! :)

On September 19th, Uncle Andrew came up for a visit (for work, but we still got to visit!). Kylie actually really liked that he was there. It was very cute. Here he is reading Kylie a bedtime story. She even climbed over his lap to get to another book!
Kylie is a toddler and I know that these things are normal, but it's the first time I'm experiencing them and thought I'd share.

Oops, I left my t-shirt drawer open!

Kylie is now 15 months old and a couple weeks. I'm so behind!! She weighs about 22 pounds (in the 20th percentile) and then is about 32 inches tall (in the 90 percentile). They didn't tell us her head size this time, but I'm sure it was still down in the 20-25%. She is tall and skinny, is wearing size 4 diapers. She's still able to wear a lot of her 12 month clothes, but the pants and sleeves (if long sleeve) are too short. Looks like elastic waisted pants will be the way to go for her in the future! So she is mostly in 18 months clothes. She is also wearing size 5 shoes already; the 4’s officially do not fit. I’m so sad because they were her first walking shoe size and she already doesn’t fit in them anymore! She LOVES deciding to wear a bow. If she pats her head and heads to the bow area in her room, she will leave the bow on all day! She can’t put them on by herself yet, but feels so pretty when they are on. She’s also just starting to get used to wearing pants and long sleeves. At first she did not like the long sleeves, but now does the ‘I feel pretty’ thing like with her bows.
She now has 15 teeth and the top left eye (fang) tooth is close to cutting. All we have left is that one and we should get a break before her 2 year molars come through! Cannot wait for that break! She just had her 15 month check-up and it went pretty well. She is where she needs to be, except that she had an unknown EAR infection! She had no symptoms, no cold, wasn't in any pain, but somehow had an ear infection. We were given antibiotics and struggle daily for her to take it. She is getting better. If we give her tons of praise and high fives inbetween squirts of meds, she tends to do better.

Kylie is very energetic and entertaining. She is getting into everything and loves to explore. She is now an avid runner. She runs to everything high up on her tippy toes! It's amazing that she doesn't fall more than she does. She has started running to Daddy when he gets home and it brings tears to my eyes to see it. The absolute sweetest thing in the world! I'm pretty sure I saw tears in Casey's eyes the other day, but he would never admit it!

Just chillin' on the water bottles, taking a break!

Kylie's favorite place to 'get into'.

Kylie will steal plastic baggies from the pantry to use as a purse. :)
Kylie sleeps through the night, sometimes waking up to fuss for a few seconds and then puts herself back to sleep. She naps everyday at 1:00 for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 and a half hours. Some days are harder for her to put herself to sleep, so nap time takes longer. Yesterday it took her an hour to put her self to sleep, but then she slept for 2 hours after that. They are not consistent, so it's still hard to plan mommy stuff during nap time. She is now a cuddler before and after naps. We rock and cuddle WITH a blanket. She insists.

She wasn't quite awake enough after her nap...
Kylie loves fresh fruit and veggies and now prefers her green beans with salt. We would try to do plain unsalted green beans because of obvious reasons, but she gets it now. Food with salt tastes better. She likes mustard on sandwiches. Never would have guessed she would like that! Mommy is having to get creative sometimes to get her interested in eating. She loves to eat, just not a ton at a time. She tends to eat more if it's something different that her ususal.
She is pretty good at pointing to her body parts when we ask her too. She knows head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, belly, belly button, hands, feet, and toes. If she doesn’t point to them, it just means that she is ignoring you. ;) She is a major babbler. Randomly she'll say something that sounds like a word and we try to decipher if she really said it or not. She still mostly uses the words that she 'knows' already like mama and more, but seems to resort to squealing or fussing when she really wants something. I've heard that their vocabulary just sky rockets in the next few months, so we are SO excited about that!
Kylie loves to read still. It's really good, but man she now wants to read ALL day long. As soon as one book is done, or almost done, she's off to grab another book! She chooses books for Daddy to read to her, for Mommy to read to her, and ones that she wants to read ‘by herself.’ If one of us tries to read a book that she wanted the other to read, she takes the book out of our hands and pats the other person and hands them the book. Such a little personality already. Her favorite place to be is up on the couch reading books. She is also to the point where she doesn't eat all of her books. So now she has a couple of big girl books with real pages. She loves them and so far has not ripped any pages!

Absolutely loves Clifford and any animal really..
She is the light of our life and we are so happy to be her parents! She surprises us everyday with what she is learning and we cannot wait until we can understand everything that she is saying!

Such a big girl!!
