Pumpkin Patch 2011

It's hard to believe it has already been a year since Kylie's first pumpkin patch experience. I remember she loved being outside and would breathe in the air whenever the wind blew in her face. She was distracted by everything moving, the cars going by, people walking around, the wind blowing. She couldn't sit up yet, so we propped her up against pumpkins. Sometimes the pumpkins would start sliding and there she would go right along with it.

This year was very different from last year in many ways. It took her awhile to warm up to the idea of being out there. She had already had a rough morning (from which we still do not know why.. wrong side of the bed??) and we went with our new friends, Ryan and Wendy. It may have been sensory overload, huge orange things scattered in a big field with random strangers wandering amongst them. I kind of understand.

She would hide behind our legs and just peek through to see.

"Maybe I'm ready to go see the pumpkins now."

After about 10 minutes and hurling herself over a pumpkin into the dewy grass (wonderful moment..), she was ready to explore.

She mostly ran and did not look down. Many pumpkins were in her way, lol.

There's a smile! Her first pumpkin pick, she was a happy girl.

She thought the pumpkins were balls and decided to throw them for mommy to go get. Oops...

She loved the little baby pumpkins.

"I'm such a big girl! I got a pumpkin!"

 By the end (it was time to go to lunch with our friends), she didn't want to leave. While Ryan and Wendy (and baby boy anyday now!) were buying their pumpkins, Kylie was running around the whole field yelling. Mostly sounded like Dada, but not sure. Needless to say, she did not want to go. We may be making another stop if we go out again today.

Her favorite place. She would just sit down. Didn't have a care in the world..

Great day at the pumpkin patch. It was a gorgeous day, right around 60 degrees and sunny. You could not ask for an even prettier day to play outside.
