I figured I'd better get a Thanksgiving post in before Christmas came along.. Man I'm behind!!
Our Thanksgiving was definitely interesting. It started out on the Sunday before Thanksgiving with Casey's Dad's side of the family. I ordered an adorable turkey shirt for Kylie to wear to all of the festivities, but it wasn't very easy to get a good picture of her. She not the biggest fan of posing for pictures lately... too much to do Mommy! We had dinner with Casey's family, well all of us but Kylie. She didn't have an appetite and at that point we had no idea if something was wrong or not. It was a whole bunch of food that she would normally scarf down.. :( Here she is at this Thanksgiving!

| Pretty much all we could get her to eat were puffs or Cheerios in her snack cup.. |
Kylie seemed to get more of an appetite after the next day or so, but on Tuesday very quickly came down with a 102+ fever. It went up and down a little bit for 2 days and finally on Thanksgiving morning, she didn't have a fever anymore. She also developed a little bit of a runny nose on Wednesday, so we thought she had a cold. Rather than rush to the doctor too early, we decided to wait it out and see if she needed to go after the holiday. Seriously, our child and holidays!! On Tuesday or Wednesday, our friend Jennifer called to tell us that her baby Audrey came down with Hand, Foot, and Mouth. They go to the church nursery together on Sundays. They went to the doctor (we have the same pediatrician) and said that it is really contagious, but it just has to run its course. There is nothing a doctor can really do, but diagnose it. My friend said that they were "quarantining" themselves for a week or so, until the symptoms were gone. Kylie didn't seem to have the same symptoms as Audrey, but we were still watching closely because we didn't want her to give it to anyone else if she did have it. It seemed like she just had a cold over Thanksgiving with her running nose and such. We took our humidifier and all our baby cold stuff to try to combat the cold while we visited with my family down in Austin.
Thanksgiving morning, since Kylie was feeling better, I took her to our church's Annual Turkey Bowl. The guys (and some girls) get together at a park and play a game of flag football. It's always a blast and fun to watch. We showed up late and Kylie was really only interested in the dog that another group that was there had. Here's a picture of the team!

After the turkey bowl, we went straight over to Casey's Mom's side lunch at his grandparents house in Irving. Kylie wasn't that interested in eating off of her own plate (as her appetite was still weird...) but she did however really like the mashed potatoes off of my plate. I don't have any pictures from this Thanksgiving. It's hard sometimes running after or always holding Kylie to take pictures. She still isn't super happy with big family get togethers. She did like saying bye bye and giving kisses though!
We left right around Kylie's nap time HOPING that she would sleep in the car. Doesn't always work out that way, so she didn't get a full nap in. This helped us decide to drive down to Austin that night instead of in the morning. She slept again at some point in the car, so all in all got a decent nap in for the day. We surprised our family (since they thought we'd be coming in the next day) and came in that night. Kylie was not a happy camper come bedtime. There was absolutely no way she would sleep in her pack n play! It was so frustrating. She either slept on Casey (she had a preference to him while we were there..) or in between us in the bed. Luckily it is a king bed in my old room, so there is generally enough room. Throughout the next few days, Kylie slept worse and worse, which in turn meant a very sleepy mommy and daddy.
Kylie always enjoys spending time in Austin, no matter how sick she is. She loves her Aunts and Uncle, and probably more (sadly) all the animals. Here are a few pictures from my family's Thanksgiving.

When we got home Sunday evening, Kylie's temperature came back with a vengeance. Of course! Since it came back, fearing another ear infection, (Her last one was less than 4 weeks before this.) we took her to the doctor Monday morning. Turns out her cold gave her a double ear infection. Poor baby! And on top of that she did end up contracting the hand, foot, and mouth. Here are a couple of pictures of the bumps/blisters that she had.
It took a couple of weeks, but now they are all at least in the healing stages. It looks like she still has a couple of stubborn spots on her fingers that seem to be staying longer because they are constantly in her mouth. Other than that, she has finished her round of antibiotics for her ear infections. She has a follow up appointment on Monday the 19th to hopefully be clear of them. We wouldn't mind a few prayers!
We are really looking forward to a healthy Christmas holiday. Please, Please, Please!!

Oh no! That is terrible, so glad she is better though! Hopefully your Christmas will be less eventful. :)
