The weekend before Kylie's birthday party, Casey and I went on an over night 'baby moon.' Our anniversary is July 1st and we wanted to celebrate before little sister came along. We booked a night at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine and got a pretty good deal. They were having some summer nights package/deal going on and I think it was a good deal. We got a $50 food credit which we used for ice cream at the water park and for breakfast the next day. Yummo!
My goal was to relax and go to the lazy river. I could not wait to float around and feel weightless! When we got there and checked in, my parents had sent some chocolate covered fruit from Edible Arrangements (my favorite place!) and a giftcard (which ended up being an ordeal because we didn't get it until after we checked out the next day.. but it was figured out and was so nice to have). We went up to our room and changed right away for the 'waterpark.' They have a shuttle that takes you (for free) to their water park with a lazy river, wave pool, slide, and other fun things. We stayed there until it was time for dinner.

After cleaning up, we drove to Irving and ate at Pappa's BBQ. We had a Pappa's giftcard and we had always wanted to try their BBQ, since it is my favorite type of food. It was pretty good, but being super duper pregnant, I couldn't eat a whole lot. When we got back, I talked Casey into going back to the waterpark. This time is was getting dark and there were less people. It was much more relaxing to not be running into tons of people the whole time. However, this time getting out, I felt like I was 400 pounds. I did not want to get out of the gravity free water that's for sure. We dried off and had a delicious Nestle Tollhouse icecream sandwich. The best!

THE WAIT...
**********
We had our babymoon, then came Kylie's birthday party. We really thought she would come with in that next week.
**********
Then came the 4th of July/Kylie's birthday and Kylie's 2 year doctor's appointment on the 5th. We just knew I'd start having contractions that night and I wouldn't make it to my appointment the next morning.
**********
Well I was 4 cm's dilated and 75% effaced and the baby's head was extremely low. Dr. Daum didn't think I'd make it to my next appointment. This was Friday, July 6th.
**********
July 13th. Still pregnant. Due date has passed. Baby is apparently happy where she is. Dr. Daum did not want me going over 41 weeks. We scheduled an induction for the next Friday, the 20th, just in case. We also scheduled for him to sweep my membranes on Tuesday in hopes of jump starting labor. Again, just in case.
My family visited 'just in case.' I'm so getting tired of saying and hearing 'just in case!'

Tuesday, still no baby. A few contractions after the 'sweep.' They kept up every 5 to 10 minutes the entire night, but never got stronger or closer together. They died down the next day. I spent each day that week walking and bouncing, eating spicy foods and fresh pineapple. Still no baby.

Friday morning 6am. We went to the hospital to be induced. I was having contractions (same semi-weak ones) on my own already and started pitocin at 5 cm's and 90% effaced at 7:15am. At least I knew the contractions I'd had over the week had done something! Baby was fully engaged in my pelvis, she just didn't want to come out!

The wait was finally over!!
