Houston Family Weekend

Our family planned a weekend in Houston to do something different than we usually do and to see the place where my brother lives and his fiance grew up. It had been months since we had all gotten together, so this was definitely needed!

We stayed at the Homewood Suites by the Galleria. It was a great hotel to be the girls' first hotel experience. There was a kitchen (which wasn't really used for this trip), a living room, and a separate bedroom with 2 queen beds. We knew that the girls would end up sleeping with each of us, so it worked out perfectly. There was free breakfast in the morning (yippee!) and an indoor pool!

We left Friday around 11am and spent pretty much ALL day driving down.

Tip for the future: Cracker Barrel is a great place to stop for a potty/nursing/stretch your legs break! I wish I could have had more time to look around, love that place!

Our sleeping arrangements. Emily is a bed hog.

Emily's favorite spot in the hotel room!

Breakfast in the lobby!

We met up with my brother for dinner and swimming Friday night, since the rest of the group wasn't in town yet.

I stayed up in the room to feed Emily while Casey and Andrew took Kylie down to the pool. We met them down there a little while later.

Emily's first time in a pool! She was SO tired, she seemed in-different. However, I must mention she is wearing the swimsuit Kylie was still wearing last summer, haha!

Saturday the entire family met at the Children's Museum downtown where we could have spent all day, but had to leave at lunchtime.

Seeing how heavy different types of materials are.

At HEB, you pick out your food in baskets, scan them with a real scanner, the items show up on the screen, then you pay with money (cards) that you got at the bank! So incredibly AWESOME!

Emily finally got to get down and crawl around.

They loved the 'Tot Spot.'

Kylie wanted Papa to do everything, even crawl in the tiny archway!

Building things with legos.

Casey and Kylie (and Grandpa too, actually) went back to the hotel for a nap while the rest of girls of the family went to a bridal salon for my brother's fiance to try on wedding dresses. We met her mom for the first time there. We had such a great time and of course, she looked amazing in every dress she tried on! But we do have our favorite!!

That night we headed back downtown for dinner at the Downtown Aquarium where you get to eat with huge aquariums all around. Our group picture from this night is on my brother's camera..

Sunday morning we all met at the Museum of Natural History and had lunch at BJ's on our way out.

She was so excited to see the new hatchlings!

Kylie (stinker) with her Aunts.

Aunts and Uncle!

Papa and Gamma (as Kylie would say)

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend! We loved getting to spend quality time together and now we know what to do the next time we visit Houston!

Love the pics, Jen, and so glad the weekend went so well! The girls loved the kids museum in Tyler; that one looks really similar!
