Kylie and I decided to head down to Austin for the weekend last weekend. We went to see family, but mainly went because I still wasn't too fond of staying home alone since the truck was stolen. Casey went hunting with his dad and we enjoyed our first girl's trip.
Kylie was WONDERFUL in the car. I was afraid I would have to stop a couple of times. Once to feed her, and then another because she was fussy. Nope! I got to drive all the way there without a fuss. It was the same way back up, she slept the entire way!
Kylie got to see Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Sarah, Uncle Andrew, and "Aunt" Chelsie. Along with Penny (the cat), Gracie, Stella, and Zorro. It did feel like a zoo sometimes, but it is getting better.
I think Kylie is getting more used to being around the dogs and vice versa. Hopefully soon, the dog's barks will not affect her and hopefully she'll learn to sleep through anything. It's probably a good thing that she has experience around big dogs. A lot of children grow up being scared of animals and Kylie probably won't be. :) Kylie loves to watch them play fight and really do just about anything. She starts kicking her legs and moving her arms around. That's how you know she's excited. Aunt Sarah has a lot of pictures with Kylie and the dogs. I'll post one once I get them from her.
Mommy and Kylie were really tired Saturday for some reason (it's not like we were doing anything..), so we took an almost 3 hour nap in bed that afternoon. It was quite relaxing! Then the whole family, minus the animals, went out to Roadhouse. Delicious, as always. Kylie was awake and playing with her toys the whole time.
Sunday morning Kylie slept in after her first feeding. She didn't wake up until about 8:30. We got all packed up and headed over to Aunt Lauren's house to visit. We were able to play for about an hour. My friend Cari and her baby Avery came over too. It was so nice to get to see the girls together and see all of the changes in both of them. Avery is still bigger than Kylie. Oh well.. Kylie wanted to talk to Avery at first, but Avery wasn't feeling it. Then they held hands and grabbed at each other. So adorable. Avery was little miss rolly polly. She was rolling everywhere, while Kylie just didn't. Ha! Kylie rolls now about once a day and that's about it. She is determined to crawl though. Once our play time was over, I fed Kylie and we were off!
Kylie slept the entire way back to Arlington. I had her lullabies on and once I hit Waco, I was almost taking my own nap. I called Casey and talked to him for awhile to keep me awake. I could have turned off the music, but there was no way I was going to wake Kylie up. I just wanted to get home. I'm so spoiled now. I am used to Casey driving long distances and at least having someone to talk to, so it was more difficult to drive than I thought it would be.
Great girl's trip all in all. It's nice to know that Kylie can travel pretty well. As long as the sun isn't in her face, she's good!
